Trojan Family Magazine spotlights video game scoring at USC Thornton

Trojan Family Magazine spotlighted video game scoring at USC Thornton in their Summer 2023 issue, featuring interviews with Screen Scoring program alumna Lauren Kott (MM ’23), and faculty members Jeanine Cowen and Garry Schyman.

They explored how Thornton’s Screen Scoring program has contributed to the growth of the video game industry, which is now valued at around $350 billion. This year, Thornton alumni Bear McCreary (’02) and Austin Wintory (’07) were nominated in the new Grammy Awards category for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media.

“It’s really satisfying to see the success of our former students,” Schyman said. “I can confidently say our program at USC is the best in the world.”
