Mic Ferrante and George Tyler Heffley win Los Angeles Area Emmy Award

On July 26, USC Thornton alumni Mic Ferrante (‘24) and George Tyler Heffley (‘24) won a Los Angeles Area Emmy in the Short Promo – Sports category for their work on “USC Football: Arrival of the Trojan.”

Ferrante composed the original score and co-remixed Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That” with Heffley, who also performed the guitar arrangement. They collaborated with USC School of Cinematic Arts alumnus Flint Tanquary (’25), who directed the video.

The project features vocals by USC Thornton students Elysa Hernandez, Lily Lochhead, Karah Rhoades, Daniel Voigt, Leverett Wilson, Colin Cunningham, Megan Chan and Chloe Neff.

With millions of views across social media platforms and live audiences at the LA Coliseum Jumbotron, “Arrival of the Trojan” has cemented itself as an exceptional promo video in the history of college football.
