Opera featuring libretto by Dana Gioia to premiere in Virginia on October 16th

The Three Feathers, a new opera featuring a libretto by USC Thornton faculty and Judge Widney Professor of Poetry and Public Culture at USC, Dana Gioia, is set to premiere on Thursday, October 16 at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. The one-act opera is based on a Grimm’s fairytale of the same name and is billed as a children’s opera.

Gioia, along with composer Lori Laitman, will discuss their creative collaboration and the process of developing “The Three Feathers” on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Moss Arts Center’s Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre.
