Join the USC Thornton School of Music for Trojan Family Weekend on Thursday, September 26, to Saturday, September 28. This annual celebration is an opportunity for families to visit campus and experience our scholastic community.

The weekend features events across the university, including those hosted by USC Thornton. Admission is free. Be sure to register here for access to the weekend’s events.

A breakfast reception for Thornton parents, students, and friends, including a presentation by members of the school’s leadership and honored guests. Reservation required.

USC Thornton dean Jason King hosts the school’s Popular Music Forum featuring legendary songwriting and album production duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. RSVP required.

Resident conductor of the USC Thornton Orchestra Program Sharon Lavery leads a free, public concert featuring the USC Thornton Winds playing Bernstein, Stravinsky, and more. Free; RSVP required

A public, musical celebration of the late Alan Louis Smith: faculty member, USC Thornton Keyboard Studies Chair and Keyboard Collaborative Arts Director whose contributions remain deeply felt.

Music Industry Brunch Tailgate

The USC Thornton Music Industry Program hosts a tailgate brunch during Trojan Welcome Week. Open to Music Industry students, families, and alumni with a reservation.

Open House Events

The School of Music opens its doors to visitors during Trojan Family Weekend. Registered participants can gain an insider’s perspective into musical discussions and rehearsals on Friday, September 27 in composition, performance, & the art of song.
