Pianist Tomomi Sato to be featured soloist at LACMA’s Sundays Live

USC Thornton Masters student Tomomi Sato (BM ’15, Keyboard Collaborative Arts) was named the winner of the 2016 Sundays Live audition through the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). She will perform a program featuring the works of Bach, Schumann and Wild on Sunday, September 11. Her performance is part of LACMA’s Sundays Live program, a weekly chamber music series featuring national, international, Los Angeles area and emerging artists in one-hour concerts.

Sato currently studies with Bernadene Blaha and serves as a graduate teaching assistant for the Keyboard Studies department. During her undergraduate studies at Thornton she received the USC Keyboard Studies Ensemble Award for three consecutive years. She won third place at the Seattle International Piano Competition, where she was recognized for Best Performance of a Work by J.S. Bach. Sato is attending the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara this summer as a Collaborative Piano Fellow.
