USC alumnus wins composition competition

Thornton alumnus Troy Armstrong recently won the Marilyn K. Glick Young Composers Competition at the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for his piece, Supercell. Part of his reward includes subscription performances in April 2014 with ISO. Armstrong is the third Thornton student in four years to win the competition.

Alumnus wins Emmy Award

Thornton alumnus Bear McCreary won an Emmy in the “Best Theme for a Dramatic Series” category for Da Vinci’s Demons, which is currently available on DVD. McCreary’s next project brings him to network TV to write music for ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
