Music Teaching & Learning faculty and students featured in conferences
USC Thornton Music Teaching & Learning faculty member Candice D. Mattio and doctoral students Mary Elder, Nick Filotei, and Angela Lin presented research at the Biennial Conference of the National Association of Music Education in Atlanta, Georgia, which was held from Sept. 25-28. The conference welcomed the participation of music educators, administrators, and community and corporate partners passionate about the critical role of music education for all.
Music Teaching & Learning faculty members William Coppola and Robert Cutietta and doctoral student Lynne Snyder presented research at the Big Ten Academic Alliance Music Education Conference at Ohio State University from Oct. 9-11.
Beatriz Illari, chair of the Music Teaching & Learning department, gave a keynote at La Bienal Internacional de Artes para la Infancia (International Biennial of Arts in Childhood) in Bogotá, Colombia from Oct. 15-20. The program gathered artists, educators, experts and families from Europe, North America and Latin America to investigate art as an essential facet of child development.
