Thomas Hooten, faculty member in the USC Thornton Winds & Percussion program and principal trumpet with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, performed the world premiere of Steven Mackey’s trumpet concerto, “Shivaree: Fantasy for Trumpet and Orchestra.”
