Music Industry

Overview

The USC Thornton Music Industry program prepares students to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry that is largely rooted in the Los Angeles area. The program combines classroom study with technical instruction and hands-on experience for those seeking a career in the music business.

Facets of the program include artist management, the record industry, music publishing, music supervision, radio, and live promotion and production. Students are mentored by faculty that includes current and former industry professionals, such as Mark Goldstein, Kenneth Lopez, Paul Young, Michael Garcia, Dax Kimbrough and others.

Thornton is pleased to introduce a new Master of Science Degree, especially-designed for trained musicians who would like to cultivate a career in the fast-changing music industry.

Jessi Mason receives ASCAP’s Molly Hymen Scholarship
